Dragon Boat Races Coming to Oriental, NC! This Friday & Saturday, August 9th & 10th

It’s that time of year again – the annual Dragon Boat Race Festival is coming to Oriental, NC this weekend!  It promises to be a fun time for all with lots of exciting events taking place.

On Friday, the military teams will compete in their time trials for placement in Saturday’s final races.  The time trials will take place in the Neuse River right in front of our hotel in Oriental, NC.  As a “triathlon” event, there will also be a series of Rickshaw Races right here on South avenue along the waterfront.  Then the military teams compete in a “Rescue Swim” segment where our intrepid troops will capture floating dragons in the river.  Our Adirondack chairs on the front lawn will be a great place to catch all the action.

There will be live music, a live radio broadcast, a kiddie fun park and food vendors to add to the festivities.  Later in the evening the fun continues with authentic Chinese Fireworks.  Come join us – we still have a couple of rooms available!
